HANDLING & COLD CHAIN

Quality & Processing Standards

Protecting wild seafood freshness from the moment catch arrives at coastal landings through disciplined handling, safe freezing and continuous cold-chain logistics.

DISCIPLINED HANDLING

Seafood Handling from Landing to Export

Wild marine catches require rapid chilling, careful size grading and disciplined freezing cycles to preserve firm tissue texture and natural color.

01

Catch Arrival & Landing Inspection

Catches arriving from artisanal and commercial fishing boats are screened immediately at coastal landing sites. Experienced sorters evaluate fish condition: clear protruding eyes, bright red gills, firm flesh elasticity and undamaged natural scales. Only fresh, sound fish are accepted for export processing.

02

Chilling & Size Calibration

Seafood is maintained in clean crushed ice throughout sorting to prevent temperature rise. Catches are calibrated into uniform weight brackets—such as 100-200g, 200-300g, 300-500g or 500g+—ensuring uniform freeze penetration, consistent carton counts and predictable cooking yields for your customers.

03

Processing Forms (WR, HGT, Gutted, Cleaned)

Depending on species and buyer specification, fish can be prepared as whole round (WR), headed and gutted (HGT) or eviscerated. Cephalopods (squid and cuttlefish) are cleaned, eviscerated, skinned or retained whole according to commercial order terms. All preparation is handled swiftly under hygienic conditions.

04

Freezing Standards & Processing

Freezing: Safe freezing according to product and shipment requirements. Operating dedicated blast freezing facilities across Oman, catches are frozen swiftly after shoreside reception to lock in natural muscle firmness, moisture and peak nutritional integrity before cold storage consolidation.

05

Packaging & Poly Liner Protection

Frozen seafood is weighed and packed into heavy-duty corrugated export cartons lined with food-grade polyethylene sheets to prevent freezer burn and dehydration during ocean transit. Cartons are labeled clearly with species name, grade, net weight and production information, then strapped firmly.

06

Dedicated Cold Storage Warehousing

Packed cartons move into dedicated cold stores operating continuously according to product and shipment requirements. Pallets are organized by lot, species and grade for rapid traceability and smooth container loading without thermal disturbance.
